Boot Addict!

It is a well known fact that I have a bit of thing about boots!  Russell Brand would probably recommend a 12 step program for this addiction, and he’d be absolutely right!  This season my favourites are from Ted Baker, River Island – who have totally nailed it with their AW2017 collection, and my absolute favourite ‘to die for’ pair from Top Shop which David bought for my birthday in September.

There I was minding my own business in Top Shop, Westfield, waiting for my daughter to try on a pair of boots herself, and all of a sudden these beauties just ambushed me!  It was love at first sight!  I asked the assistant if I could try on a size 4, and imagine my disappointment when she said there was no 4 in stock, and no 4 available online either!  Boo-hoo big time!  I don’t know what made me suggest it, but 20 minutes later when my daughter was still umming and erring over this pair or that pair of black cool boots, it suddenly occurred to me that maybe, just maybe a 3 might fit.  There IS a God!  Size 3 were the perfect fit for me!  Box ’em up QUICK!  They’re MINE!!

Next up, on our Westfield shopping trip we went to Kurt Geiger….and HELLO!!!!

A beautiful sumptuous, forest green suede.  LOOK AT THAT HEEL THOUGH!!  Exciiiiiiiting!!!  I love the wood going on, and turns out they are the perfect pair to go with my beautiful wooden bag which David bought me for my birthday last year from La Basilica Galeria, Barcelona…a shop so beautiful it needs a blog post all of it’s own!

No lectures on materialism and consumerism here please, but this piece is my pride and joy!   It is exquisitely made from Acacia wood, all of their pieces area unique works of art and beautifully lined.

But I digress…back to The Boots!

Next up we headed for Ted Baker, and just like that – I was all spent out!

A much nicer  paler, softer khaki green than illustrated actually.  Furnished with rose gold zip and toe cap, a pretty bow and a straight block heel, what’s not to love?  My only decision was which colour to go for – they also came in grey and black, but I’ll have to wait for the Black Friday event or the January sales for that to happen!

This season River Island have a killer collection going on with beautiful coloured suedes, satins, leather and fabric sock boots.  I loved these:

Also loving their bright suedes:-

They have NAILED it this season.

Also spotted a few more for my AW2017 wish list – no pair goes unnoticed with me!  It’s part of my condition!!

From Amazon!  Who KNEW?!!

And there’s MORE!

Amazon also getting in on the Autumn brights action…. How could your feet not ‘pop’ in these!

New Look are killing it with colour too:

And these:-

As are Moda In Pelle – these are called Peretta:

And these beauties are called Valore!  – Serious Black Friday event needed for these though!)Russell and Bromley had some almost identical ones  about 7 years ago, and I always regretted not being able to afford them.  A classic shape though, and one which would last for years.

I toyed with the idea of these recently too, but then decided they are a bit too Marks and Spencer for me!  M&S being so prolific that you can bet if you wore these out someone else would be wearing them too.  Love the colour and the smoked heel but…NAH!!!

Also spotted this season are:

Both  rather glam and both from Ali Express.com who do the most AMAZING dupes!  Last year I bought THESE:

Saw a blogger wearing them, and loved them.  However the D&G price tag was a bit of a stumbling block, but the addict in me managed to get the fix I needed anyway with the help of Ali Express’s dupe.  Here’s a picture of the D&G originals.  Not bad, eh?!!

I want to share some of my older favourites  within this post too – which I’ve had in my wardrobe for a while now.  First up my French Connection grey suede knee high boots with their gold chain detail from the 2015  F.C collection:-

And next up from BIBA – 2014 collection I think – Beautiful soft black leather, and super stylish killer heels:

Also always loved these NINE WEST beige suede knee highs with the fur and toggle trim.  I remember buying them from their Covent Garden store years ago!  2008 maybe!  A little bit battered and worn now, but still loved.

Another favourite here from DUNE – circa 2011…but still loving that fur…it’s real…but don’t tell anyone, cos that’s just BAD!!!!

I know – matching fur collar thing too!  Oh the SHAME of it!  How did that get in my bag?!

I also had a brief thing with Ted & Muffy a couple of years ago, but lately they’ve gone a bit frumpy and I’m not so sure about them now, but I do love their ‘Fairy Tale Fit’ thing they have going on, so when you order a pair of knee high boots you can order them to fit your calf width, and with their shoes and ankle boots you can order in standard, narrow or wide fit.  These blue suede fringed boots were my favourites, which survived the lasagne dropped on them the first time I wore them, and David, after mopping up my tears, also lovingly mopped up the tomato red stain which I couldn’t bear to even look at!

Well….obviously I had to buy them in black as well!  Hello…have we MET?!!

And finally – my walking boots – in which I have walked the Malvern Hills, and along the Grand Union Canal, all over Bristol, Edinburgh, around the Woburn Abbey Estate, and the Woburn woods to boot!  (See what I did there!)

I adore these boots – only £25 from SELECT, not even real leather, but so comfortable and so stylish too.

Whatever the price, whatever the label, I take really good care of all my boots, and if they’re boxed, I keep them boxed, and if they are stuffed with tissue paper and cardboard inserts to hold their shape, that is how I will always put them away after wearing, to maintain their newness for as long as I can.  Top tip for suedes is to hold them over steam from a boiled kettle, and just gently brush, it really restores them.

Here endeth my boot collection so far – because with me it’s probably a never ending story!
